The Daily Plan-It: Talking Pictures, Hungry Otter Music Fest, and the Royal Hounds

Good morning! Here’s what’s going on around town today.

Head over to the McClung Museum at UT for a free screening of an art film (which lasts about 30-45 minutes). There’s popcorn involved! More info here.

This evening at 7:30, the Birdhouse will host a night of rock and roll against Amendment 1. Plant Parenthood, Headface and the Congenitals, DJ Nijoli, and a handful of other artists will perform. It’s free to attend!

Got some tweens? They might be into the OMG Music Fest at the Bijou Theatre tonight. A smattering of teenage musicians will perform at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25-$95. Buy them here.

For the more mature set, the Hungry Otter Music Festival (organized by Tim and Susan Lee of the Tim Lee 3) kicks off at 8 p.m. at the Pilot Light. All kinds of musicians from all kinds of genres will be there to perform. More info here. Cover’s $5. 18+ only.

Local rockabilly outfit the Royal Hounds will perform at Barley’s at 10 p.m. 21+ only. (They’re also performing at noon at the Blue Plate Special!)
